Nomination-Aga Khan Award for Architecture (2023-2025 cycle) for work in Swat Valley with Swat Participatory Council (SPC)
Chinar Mosque: A conservation project was initiated to restore a historic mosque in the Khwazakhela region of Swat Valley, Pakistan, a region torn by Taliban-ization, war, and mass displacement. Known for intricately carved woodwork reflecting multi-religious heritage, the mosque was damaged by conflict, flooding, and social upheaval. The project focused on structural restoration, preserving traditional craftsmanship, and community participation. The project promoted awareness of multicultural heritage, revived the mosque as a hub for worship and gatherings, and instilled local pride.
